Temporary staffing revenue maintains growth trend in February

Posted on April 15th, 2015 Read time: 1 minutes

A March survey by Staffing Industry Analysts reported that temporary staffing revenue rose 10 percent between February 2014 and the same month this year. This upward tick continues the trend of increase in revenue growth, which has maintained the pace of 10 percent for the last five months.

The top three increases in temp staffing revenue growth came from the health care industry: Travel nursing rose 17 percent, per diem nursing grew 8 percent and allied health care went up 14 percent.

"While a number of segments reported solid year-over-year revenue growth, health care staffing stood out as especially strong," Ziv Tepman, research analyst, said. "Our indicator for recruiting difficulty also suggested growing competition for health care professionals."

This trend within the health care industry is in keeping with the recent CareerBuilder report on the projected growth of temporary jobs. According to the report, temporary jobs are expected to grow 13 percent from 2014 to 2019. As a profession, the number of home health aides is expected to increase 15 percent. This growth in jobs in the health care industry will no doubt lead to higher potential for temporary staffing revenue.
