What These Ultra-Focused People Are Doing That You’re Not

Posted on March 18th, 2016 Read time: 2 minutes

Being more focused means you get more done in less time. Learn three ways you can be more focued at work so you produce a higher level of quality output.

  • Reflect

Take time early each day to reflect on your priorities and set your intentions. Shutting out distractions and concentrating on one thing works your attention “muscle.” The more you use your “muscle,” the stronger it becomes. This process helps start your day with purpose, so you can complete necessary tasks.

You may want to write down your priorities and intentions for five minutes in a notebook each morning. At night, you can take five minutes to review and reflect on what went right or how you could’ve made your day more productive. Recording thoughts in your notebook will be some of the best 10 minutes you invest daily.

  • Remember

Hundreds of things will demand your attention daily, which may cause you to forget your priorities and intentions. Jumping from one task to another will cause fatigue and memory lapse as your day progresses. Recharge with small triggers or stimuli to remind you of your daily intentions.

Perhaps you’ll utilize mugs, t-shirts, or other motivational products created for entrepreneurs. Whenever you go to make coffee or tea, you could choose a mug that best reflects your mood or gives you a boost to continue producing. These are simple and effective ways to refocus on what task needs completing next.

  • Regroup

You can’t work at a frantic pace each day and expect to be at the top of your game. Just as your muscles grow bigger and stronger by short times of stress followed by rest and recovery, your attention needs time for breaks as well.

Stop and clear your head for 30 seconds before starting a new activity. Take three deep breaths and determine the most important task you want to accomplish next. You’ll be able to focus better on what’s most significant at the moment, despite how tired or busy you are. This will motivate you to focus your attention on the task at hand, rather than what’s left on your to-do list.

When you’re remarkably focused, you’re more effective at work and able to achieve more than others. Let us work with you on achieving your company’s goals by contacting the professionals at Innovative Employee Solutions today!
