Social media recruitment strategies

Recruiters who are looking for permanent or temporary workers may wish to consider expanding their efforts to social media sites. These can be excellent opportunities to connect with candidates where they spend much of their time. Additionally, available features and programs for data analysis can point recruiters in the direction of their ideal candidates.

In leveraging social media for recruitment, it is important to build a good network. This can involve following industry leaders and their followers, as well as making sure to post interesting content that people will want to share.

Once a recruiter has a network in place, he or she needs to keep an eye on it daily, if not more often. As opportunities arise, he or she should consider which online contact might be suitable. Conversely, it's important to get news of someone seeking a new position as soon as possible to begin to discuss a position with them if desirable.

As the world gets increasingly digital and connected, virtual recruitment will not be going away. Indeed, those human resources administration professionals who can use social media effectively will have a distinct advantage.
