Maximizing relationships with staffing agencies

Staffing companies are pairing millions of people with new jobs every day. Businesses that work with employer of record services should take the time to find the provider that best suits their needs.

More than 8 million temporary and contract workers are hired by U.S. staffing firms over the course of a year, according to the American Staffing Association.

The companies that work with staffing firms should make sure the firm they choose has the right candidate base for the positions they need filled, recommends Aaron Green in an article on The Boston Globe's Hiring Hub. The ASA can provide a list of local staffing agencies organized by skill type. After a firm has been chosen, it is important to communicate the company's employment needs clearly, including the length of the workday, the number of contract workers needed, the length of the assignment and the urgency of the need.

Many organizations decide to sign long-term contracts with one staffing agency in order to save costs and have an employee pool customized to their businesses. When looking for a long-term partnership with an agency, it is helpful to hold trial relationships with multiple firms in order to find the best fit.
