Glassdoor feature teams with Facebook for job hunt

Jobs and career community site Glassdoor is integrating with Facebook to further enhance the job-hunting experience, TechCrunch reports.

Its Inside Connections feature lets users sign into Glassdoor.com using their Facebook account information to view where their friends work. This is significant because if a user discovers that one of his or her friends is close with someone in HR administration, this could provide a direct link to get his or her resume noticed.

In a Harris Interactive survey commissioned by Glassdoor of 2,000 U.S. adults, four in five employees and job seekers who use social networks believe it's important to have career and employer background of contacts within the social platforms, ZDNet reports.

"Who you know can make all the difference in a job search and in your career," said Glassdoor co-founder and CEO Robert Hohman, as quoted by the news source. "By using Glassdoor’s Inside Connections, you can now bring together who you know with what you need to know about jobs and companies."

Glassdoor currently has data on 150,000 companies, making it likely that a user will find at least one person they know with contacts at a job they'd like to work at.
