In lieu of the fallout following former Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn's recent resignation, the electronics chain has decided to hire a recruiting firm to find its new CEO.

Dunn stepped down in April after an investigation found he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a female employee, which violates company policy.

The recruiting firm hired by Best Buy has a history of working with other well-known entities. For instance, it has been linked to searches for a New York Times CEO, as well as board members for both Facebook and CoreLogic. Best Buy said in a statement that it chose the firm because of its experience dealing with retail and digital companies.

Best Buy recently altered its Geek Squad hiring processes – it had used HR outsourcing for its IT needs in the past – by hiring about 200 IT specialists as a way to "woo" customers across multiple sales channels, including stores, mobile devices and BestBuy.com, the Chicago Tribune reports.

"We've largely outsourced IT. We now want (to hire) talent as Best Buy employees," Jody Davids, Best Buy's chief information officer, told the news source.
