Elizabeth M. Rice, SPHR

Ms. Elizabeth Rice is the CEO of Innovative Employee Solutions, Inc. (IES), a nationwide provider of outsourced payroll and human resources (HR) administration services. During her tenure at IES, she has been a key driver in the company's success. Since the firm's beginning in 1972, IES has emerged as a national industry leader in HR outsourcing, and has been consistently ranked among San Diego's top women-owned businesses for the last 5 years.

A seasoned professional in the staffing and payrolling industry, Elizabeth is recognized both regionally and nationally for her achievements and expertise, specifically in the areas of employee relations, women's workforce issues, and temporary employment. She has published numerous articles on HR best practices and has been a featured speaker at numerous industry events.

An advocate and mentor for women professionals, Elizabeth has dedicated significant effort and attention toward raising awareness and recognition of the HR Profession, with special emphasis on the staffing industry. She has been the recipient of several awards, including the YWCA's Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award, honoring professional women for their achievements in business and industry. She was also named a finalist in both the 2009 and 2004 "Women Who Mean Business" awards, and was recognized by the 2005 Women's Entrepreneurial Awards.

She has been an active participant in a number of professional organizations, including: Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), San Diego Human Resources Association (SDHRA), and City College and Continuing Education Centers. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for Innovative Employee Solutions, Junior Achievement of San Diego and Imperial Counties, Temporary Staffing Insurance Limited (TSIL), and Med-E-Cell, a San Diego-based medical device and intellectual property company. Elizabeth also volunteers her time and financial resources to local committees in support of the Monarch School, American Cancer Society, YWCA, Ninos del Lago and the Akilah Institute for Women.

Elizabeth holds her lifetime Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management Institute, in addition to her business management certification from the Executive Management Institute. Elizabeth is married and lives in La Jolla, California with her husband, Dr. Henri Maget and their dog, Guitou.
